What is it?
Some questions are too heavy to ask out loud. Some feelings are too complicated to explain to people who haven’t lived this life. And some moments leave you thinking, “I don’t know who to talk to about this.”
That’s why Dear ISAN exists.
This is a safe, judgment‑free space where you can ask the hard questions. The ones about disability, chronic illness, caregiving, PTSD, TBI, relationships, resentment, burnout, identity shifts, and everything in between. We answer with honesty, warmth, lived‑experience wisdom, and practical tools you can actually use.
You can share your name, or you can stay completely anonymous. Either way, you’re welcome here.
How Dear ISAN Works
We read every submission with care. We choose questions that reflect the real, messy, complicated experiences our community is navigating. When we answer, we focus on:
- Validation (your feelings make sense)
- Clarity (here’s what’s actually going on beneath the surface)
- Practical tools (scripts, steps, and strategies)
- Lived experience (what we’ve learned the hard way)
- Compassion and empathy (no judgment, no shame but a possible dose of tough love if warranted)
Your question might help someone else feel less alone. Someone else’s question might help you feel understood.
That’s the beauty of this space.
